 When positioning the crane, make sure that it is placed at a safe distance from ditches, manholes and banks. |
 The load transferred by each stabiliser is distributed through the ground — in the presence of an even supporting surface — in a conical manner with an angle of 45°. This cone must not cut across ditches, manholes or banks. |
 Adjust the safety distance from such hazards according to the type of ground. The safe distance of the crane outrigger from the ditch edge in the case of loose or filling material is equal to twice the depth of the ditch, or at least 2 metres. |
